DECCAN CHARGERS (DC)

Deccan chargers known in short as DC  or 'Chargers' is a franchise that represents the city of Hyderabad
in Indian Premier League .They won the Second season held in South Africa in 2009. The team is held in
The team is led by Kumar Sangakkara and coached by Darren Lehmann, former Australian Test and
One-Day cricketer.
                           The finished last in the inaugural season of the IPL , and as the champions in the next season.
2008 Season Players

         The franchise initialy acquired star players  Captain V.V.S .Laxman, Adam Ghilichrist,  Andrew Symonds, Shahid Afridi , Scott Styris and Herschelle Gibbs . The main bowlers purchased by the franchise were R.P.Singh , Nuwan  , and Chaminda Vaas . The other Indian Players are Rohit Sharma , Venu Gopa  

        
          2009 Season Player
                             After the debacle of 2008, the team management sacked the entire administration associated with the tournament in that year. They removed their CEO J.Kalyankrishna , Coach Robin Singh and the captain V.V.S.Laxman and replaced them with Tim Wright , The former Australian batsman Darren
Lehmann and former Australian Wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist respectively. Many new players were taken
from domesttic circuit . The 2008 sponsor Jaypee Group .

    On 11 August 2009 , Dinesh Wadhwa, former Regional Manager of ICICI Bank was appointed chief
operating officer for 2010.

     The Deccan Chargers having lost to the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the 3rd place play-of failed to
quality for the 2010 Champions League Twenty20 while the IPL champions Chennai Super Kings , runners-up Mumbai indians along with Royal Challengers proceeded to the  event that was played in South Africa.
